Yonex Ezone 100 300g (2020) Racket Review

From the back of the court, this racket offers a little something for everyone.

It swings so nicely through the air and really encourages you to take aggressive cuts at the ball.

When you do, you’re rewarded with lots of spin potential, and good control.

Even if you’re someone who likes to sit back behind the baseline though, the Ezone 100 has enough pop to allow you to absorb the power and wait for your opportunity to pounce.

I particularly enjoyed hitting backhands with this racket, where I found the easy playability helped me get my hands through the ball, giving me that extra bit of power and depth.

Compared to the Ezone 98, it’s not got quite the same level of stability, which takes away some of the control, but you’d expect that being a little bit lighter.

Instead you get the easy targeting of the 100 sq inch head and a racket that is exceptionally easy to swing.

This combination would be ideal for intermediate players who are working on perfecting their swings, but equally it is a good racket for lower level advanced players.

We always say this with the Ezone rackets, but there are fewer sticks out there that are easier to play with.

It has a great balance between power and control and nice spin potential to help you put your opponents under pressure.

All in all, a good performance from the back of the court from the Yonex Ezone 100 300g (2020) and we gave it a 7.5 out of 10.

While we might have preferred the Ezone slightly more from the back of the court, this racket didn’t do badly at the net for a 300g stick.

The easy playability continues, making it easy to get the racket into position and stable enough on contact.

The racket is comfortable throughout the swing, but perhaps doesn’t have enough weight to make it the complete weapon at the net.

Nevertheless, the Ezone 100 does enough for singles players who like to come in off strong approaches and suits the modern game nicely.

I don’t know if it’s got enough for a serve volleyer, but as 300g rackets go, it is pretty solid at the net.

Doubles wise, I would want something a little bit heavier myself, but for players who are used to the 300g weight, it’s a good option.

The big pluses are how easy it is to get this racket into position and once you’re there, contact is comfortable and nice and clean.

We gave the Yonex Ezone 100 a 7 out of 10, not a bad score for a 300g racket.

This is an area where we always enjoy the Ezone rackets. They’ve got a great way of encouraging you to swing through with lots of speed, giving you plenty of power without taking too much away in terms of control.

When you mix all that together, you’ve got what you need for a great serving performance.

We all found we were able to hit some big first serves with this stick, but it didn’t come at the cost of consistency, particularly on the second serve.

I always find I can measure a racket better by its performance on the second serve than the first serve.

When you’ve got that added pressure of absolutely having to get the ball in the court, you need a stick you feel comfortable with and that’s what we got with this Ezone 100 (2020).

The Ezone is fast, offers good power, spin, and control and you can’t ask for much more.

We gave it an 8 out of 10 on the serve.

The maneuverability and easy playability of this racket work out nicely on the return, although I could have used a tiny bit more stability.

Once I got used to it though, I found I returned really well with this racket and particularly enjoyed attacking the second serve.

One thing I find with the return is that I need to feel like I’m playing with something that moves quickly through the air, otherwise, in my mind I’m always a little late on the ball.

With the Ezone 100 that wasn’t an issue at all though, and I felt like I was hitting a lot of returns straight out the middle of the strings.

When you do this consistently, you’ve got a good chance of breaking serve, and I certainly found I was able to do that with this racket.

Again, there was little to complain about with the Yonex Ezone 100 300g and we gave it a 7.5 out of 10 for the return.

Overall, we really liked this Ezone as a racket anyone can get along with. It’s got a little bit of everything and at 300g is a very manageable weight.

The first characteristic that comes to mind with this stick is playability, but that’s quickly followed by speed and spin.

Power wise, it’s finely balanced in the middle of control and power, and I think this is the main reason why anyone can get along with this racket.

One area where we found this racket particularly excelled was on the serve, where it gave us plenty of power whilst still maintaining good control.

However, we had plenty to back that up with as the speed and spin allowed us to play some strong attacking tennis.

The Ezone is probably weakest at the net, but it doesn’t do a bad job for a 300g racket, and it’s certainly not a big enough concern to put people off buying it.

The Yonex Ezone 100 2020 did a very good job, and we gave it a strong 7.5 out of 10.
